Hi there, I’m Charlene.
I’m a vegan who is married to a meat eater. A ‘I will never go vegan’ kind of meat eater. I also have ‘I will never go vegan’ friends.
Unless I ditch them to hang out in purely vegan spaces, begging people to become my vegan friends, I’m rarely looking for 100% plant-based venues.
It was on my first resort holiday, that I began to appreciate how challenging it is being a vegan away from home. As guests, we are reliant on the places we stay to provide us with everything we need, including nutrition.
After 10 days of being told ‘the chef is making you something special' to be presented with a vegetable stack, it is not surprising that the experience left me lacking. In enthusiasm, in variety, but mostly in energy. No protein for 10 days catches up with you!!
The experience left me wanting to do something about it, leading me to create Vegan Con Carne. I focus on helping those who didn’t get into hospitality to cater to dietary requirements. Vegan Con Carne is not about changing your ethos, purely elevating it, and showing you how easy it can be to please your ‘fussy’ guests.

At Vegan Con Carne there is not a one size fits all approach or an ‘out the box’ templated consultancy experience because I understand the success of your business is rooted in your uniqueness.
I will not ask you to compromise your identity to cater to your guests. Instead, I work with you to tweak your offering, ensuring all your guests (regardless of dietary requirements) enjoy the same exceptional experience.

Giving back
Its not just your guests who benefit from you working with Vegan Con Carne, its also your local community and the planet at large. Giving back is a big part of our ethos.
While working with you, we’ll find local charities and community groups we can support who are dedicated to providing food to those who need a helping hand.
Annually at least 10% of our profits will be donated to similar causes, plus whenever we can, we offer our time, resources and knowledge to these causes close to our heart.
All carbon emissions generated from travel are off set at a cost to Vegan Con Carne, with the goal of working towards being carbon negative one day.
And a tree is planted each time we partner with a new client.
